Mary Robinson

Mary Robinson was the first woman to serve as President of Ireland and is a former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. She has long been a passionate, forceful advocate for gender equality, women’s participation in peace-building and for all aspects of justice and the attainment of human dignity. Mary Robinson has been a member of The Elders since its launch by Nelson Mandela in 2007. She serves as President of the Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice.
